Becoming an Instructor of Universal Healing Tao
The Universal Healing Tao Certification Path is based on building a strong foundation of core practices, which becomes the trunk of a progressively growing tree with many possibilities to round out your practice in a holistic way and also specialize in one or several branches. The first step is to train and certify as an “Associate Instructor.” After honing your skills and further training, you can become a “Certified Instructor” of foundation practices. Beyond this, you can be certified to teach individual practices.
Summary of Requirements:
Total Training Hours: 110
Prerequisite Training:
60 – 70 hours of preparatory training before beginning Associate Instructor training, which may be facilitated by any level of Instructor. Hours may include: classes, workshops, retreats or private instruction.
Letter of Intent:
After this 40-70 hours of training as a practitioner, you send a letter to UHT stating the reasons why you’d like to certify.
Additional training for Association Instructor Certification:
~Core Practices
A minimum of 40 hours needs to be Tao Energy Basics (Inner Smile, Microcosmic Orbit, Healing Sounds, Chi Self Massage), Iron Shirt (Tree & Turtle), Simple 5 Qigong Warm ups (Crane & Turtle Neck, Spinal Cord Breathing, Shaking, Sitting Meditation Warm ups).
~Additional Practices
20 – 30 hours out of the 60 – 70 hours may come from: Healing Love, Iron Shirt II & III, Fusion I, Tai Chi I, Tan Tien Qigong or Tao Yin.
~Personal Practice
A personal daily practice in the UHT Basic Practices for a minimum of 6 months to one year is recommended.
Certification Testing
UHT is different than many organizations. Receiving training at retreats, workshops and classes is required, but does not automatically certify you. To be certified by UHT, your knowledge and teaching confidence is reviewed by two instructors. This process, which surprises many people, ensures that the practices and knowledge of these traditional practices is transmitted with clarity and fidelity.
Associate Instructor – 1stlevel: enables you to teach the Tao Basics (MCO, 6 Healing Sounds, The Inner Smile and Simple Qigong) in your area.
Full Instructor Certification: Enables you to teach anywhere and to test for certification in Healing Love, Tai Chi, Iron Shirt and Tao Yin Yoga.
At both Levels: You are able to list yourself on the worldwide Instructor Website, along with all practices you teach. There may also be discounted fees for training with Mantak Chia as well.
UHT Training with Me
My weekly classes in Qigong and Neidan are designed as complete practices for everyone and draw on all my Qigong and Tao traditions, but UHT practices are always the core. The additional practices, while not required for certification, will deepen your understanding of UHT and provide breadth to your personal practice and how you teach UHT.
I have asked and received approval for students to credit all time spent in my classes toward certification. I am always clear about the source of each practice when I teach, but emphasize this with Instructor Trainees so you are never confused or unclear.
