Medical Qigong Therapy

I am what’s called a Medical Qigong Therapist.  That means I’ve completed three years’ training with the International Institute of Medical Qigong through Lisa VanOstrand’s Three Treasures Healing in New York that involved in depth study of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and training in an extensive toolbox of healing protocols that clear, vitalize and balance the Qi energies of the body. My degree is called a Masters of Medical Qigong.

Medical Qigong or Qi Healing (also called Healing Qigong) is a branch of TCM along with Herbology, Acupuncture and Tui Na Massage.  It is a very gentle, energy (Qi) based healing practice that is nonetheless deep and powerful.  The client relaxes on a massage table in comfortable clothing and may be asked to join the therapist in making soft sounds or visualizations while she works with them. She works on the client’s whole body, at times with touch, at other times energetically.

Qi Healing accesses a client’s physical, emotional and energy systems to support and foster deep relaxation and healing.  Qi stagnation is cleared, new energy is brought in to revitalize, balance and nurture.  Stress and anxiety can diminish and sleep improve.  Chronic situations can clear and old issues approached differently.  Qi Healing works best over a series of sessions… While it feels great right away, the body or mind may return to old habits after one session, but as the treatments continue, change enters and possibilities multiply.
